Sand Can Cure, by Julia

This stamp commemorates the Southwest Indians. These paintings were made in the sand. They got the colors by grinding mineral. Indians used all different colors for their paintings. The Indians believe that the sand paintings had magical powers to cure the sick. Around the paintings there are Indian symbol. Some of the show deer tracks, which means paths cross, which means running water. Their are many different symbol and meanings, these are just some that I choose.
