Making Pottery, by Emem

My picture shows a Hopi Indian sitting down making a pot. It is made out of clay, sand and water. The design shows or tells something about the Southwest Indians. They made the paint out of plants and minerals. The pot was used to store food and water and other things. The pot has the colors that a Hopi Indian might use and the kind of design they would use. The lady in the picture is a Hopi Indian. When a woman is not married they wear buns on the sides of their heads.
