A Navajo Home, by David J.

This stamp commemorates the Hogan. It is used for shelter. It uses big, heavy wooden poles to hold it up. The poles were covered with earth. A Hogan is six sided and made out of logs, mud, and adobe. A single doorway faces east to welcome the sun and good spirits. The doorway is covered by a single rug. This is a Southwest Indian Navajo home.
