Mother Earth and the Snake Dance, by Anna

This stamp represents the Southwest Indians. My drawing shows Mother Earth and other religious things. The S.W.I. believed that Mother Earth was in all living things. They also believed that no can own land. No one can own land because it was everyone's. Also on my stamp I show a dance called the Snake Dance. This dance is done in August, for 9 days. Part of the dance was to put live Rattle snakes in their mouth! This ceremony was for soil, rainfall, crops, and sunshine. There's also a Indian rug on my stamp.
