BUILD A MENTOR-TEACHER TEAM
AT YOUR SCHOOL!
Share What You've Learned
With People Who Need It The Most
Do you enjoy teaching mathematics and science and appreciate the reform
efforts in these areas?
Would you like to share your expertise and enthusiasm with peers and teachers-in-training?
Is there at least one other experienced teacher in your school with similar
traits and interests?
IF SO... each of you could "charge up" your career by forming
a team of mentor teachers for the Maryland Collaborative for Teacher Preparation
(MCTP). You'll offer support and guidance to MCTP pre-service teachers during
field experiences and student teaching at your school. To prepare for your
role, you'll attend a 10-day Summer Institute (and a few workshops during
the school year) where you'll learn and share exciting new concepts in teaching
and integrating science, mathematics, and technology.
MCTP will pay a stipend, housing, and travel expenses, and costs
for substitutes as needed.
The 1997 Summer Institute will be held on campus at the University of
Maryland College Park from July 20 - August 1.
APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE AFTER JANUARY 6 FROM THE MCTP OFFICE AT (301)
405-1255 OR E-MAIL TO DS219@UMAIL.UMD.EDU
Closing date for receipt of applications is February 21, 1997
