One of my greatest joys as a faculty member is working on research with graduate students. The success of my students gives me immense pleasure. I have supervised students from both the business school and the mathematics department. Given the breadth and interdisciplinary nature of my research interests I also frequently serve on thesis committees in Computer Science, Economics, and Engineering. • Robert W. Day (2004), Assistant Professor, University of Connecticut. Phd Thesis. This dissertation won the 2005 George B. Dantzig Dissertation Award from INFORMS. • Ioannis Gamvros (2006), ILOG Consulting. Phd Thesis. This dissertation was a finalist for the 2007 George B. Dantzig Dissertation Award from INFORMS. A paper based on his thesis won the 2010 Management Science Strategic Innovation Prize. As a Ph.D. student Ioannis was also a finalist for the 2005 INFORMS Daniel H.
