It was the year 3000. A blustering society, with a little over a million people living under the clear blue skies.
Platinum and chrome buildings fill the streets. Streets are clean, without a single crack or speck of dirt. Maglev trains running on pure energy zoom across the Earth Division.
Some people are walking around, getting from place to place. Some racing with extreme velocity. Some flying and some going from one point to another in a split second. The city was paradise. No problems, no worries. Everyone united under one society, exiled and separated from the surrounding world that was war-torn and anarchistic.
[[Who founded the city?]]

A hundred years ago, Mark Samuel, the first pilot ruler of the newborn society, vowed to purify our city and get rid of the anarchy government. He rallied enough support to create a new government and city. The surrounding world was still dark and disgusting however.
Thus, under the new government, a law was created. That the society would forever be shunned from the world. That the city of Aidea would be isolated and protected by the great wall we live behind today. No one gets in and no one gets out. There was no violence, no war, and no crime. The city was pure.
When Mark was confident in who truly supported him, he finally revealed his greatest invention known to humankind. Or rather, unknown. He had developed this technology years ago, but kept it hidden.
One day, he had gathered all the citizens in the middle of the city. With a snap of his finger, a small flame flickered from between his pressed pointer finger and thumb. Everyone was astonished. It was unheard of that a human could control fire or produce it.
His technology however allowed for that. He effectively changed the human’s body chemistry to allow for it to harvest the flow of energy that produced a power. He mass produced the technology to everyone. Many did not receive powers afterwards however.

Years later, the city split into 4 separate divisions. Sitting in the middle of the city was the capital, where the elemental manipulators ruled. The 4 divisions, today, consist of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air.
There were four element manipulators in the entire city and they were the most powerful. Each one controlled one di vision according to their element.
The people in those divisions all had the same powers. People in the Fire division had speed, a useful power in emergency procedures, which was what the people in that division were in charge of. People in the Air division dealt with building and construction, with their power of flight. The Earth division consisted of people with normal jobs as Strength wasn’t as useful in a city filled with technology advancements that could handle large heavy objects.
[[Who am I?]]<img src="./images/water.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/yay.mp3" autoplay />
You come from the water division and work for the water manipulator as a servant. Why?You have no powers. Till this day, there are many who still don’t have the right body chemistry to possess any powers and you fall under those few.
For the first decade of your life, you were a normal child. you went to school with normal children who learned the same things as me. It didn’t matter who was who. No one could tell who was able to receive powers and who wasn’t.
It was supposed to be good for moral development. Power can corrupt someone if they are born with it. At thirteen years old, the age of eligibility, you had the implant. Weeks went by, however, and you still couldn’t teleport, the power available for the water division.
“You’re just a late bloomer,” your father had told you. “It took me a month to fully use my power.”
You feel important sometimes when the Water Manipulator asks me to attend meetings with him and take down notes. To be in the same room as all the elemental manipulators was amazing. You could feel their power energy surge through your body as soon as you stepped inside the room. You feel tingles running down your spine.
[[breath in the air]]

<audio src="./audio/yay.mp3" autoplay />
You breathed in the air, trying to souvenir every moment with these powerful people. To be like them would be an unfathomable dream. Something you know will never come true. you sigh and sulk a little in your seat, thinking of how unlucky you were. If you don’t have powers you are basically worthless in the city.
[[listen in on the meeting you're in]]<img src="./images/fire.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/wow.mp3" autoplay />
“There is one more issue we have to address before the meeting ends,” the Fire Manipulator began, “I have gathered a few trusted police officers to look into the APA situation. They should be dealt with soon, and be punished for their crimes.”
You perk up in your seat.
[[What is the APA?]]
[[Keep paying attention to the meeting]]<img src="./images/apa.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/nice.mp3" autoplay />
The APA stands for Anti-Power Association. It is a group of powerless citizens who try and stand up to the government. They are really dangerous, but have never really been taken seriously. No one has openly seen them since the creation of the society when some few had received powers while others hadn’t. It started out small and eventually expanded. But, before it could become something truly dangerous, Mark Samuel used his powers to stop the group and disband it.
Nothing much happened after that. With even more people eligible for powers, no one believed the group would rise up again. They warned us about them in school, but most kids didn’t even believe in them. You have heard your parents joke about it when you were younger, but you haven’t heard its name in years. You just assumed it was gone forever. Hearing that they have been spotted in the city makes you curious as to what they could be doing.
Everyone suddenly got to their feet and began shuffling their notes, hurriedly trying to get to the door.
Everything in the capital was always done in such a rush. If you slow down for a minute, everyone leaves you in the dust. You had to jump up and run to catch up with the Water Manipulator.
[[Ask the Water Manipulator about the APA]]
[[Finish the day and go home]]
<img src="./images/hallway.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/away.mp3" autoplay />
“Um, sir may I ask a question?” you said so quietly you were almost whispering.
“Sure,” he responded.
“What was the APA doing that the police had to get involved?” you asked.
He suddenly stopped in the middle of the long hallway and you tripped over your own feet trying to come to a halt as quickly as he did. He turned to face you and we made eye contact. There was a serious tone to his voice as he said, “Nothing that should be of any interest to you,” he turned away and began walking again as he finished his thought, “If you must know, there was a little uproar in the city yesterday.
At one of the maglev train stations, the APA was trying to convince people that our government is corrupt,” he began laughing almost as if he was mocking how anyone could undermine his authority. He sharply looked at you without warning, “Now, don’t get any ideas. You know what happens to people like that. You are better off working as a servant than roaming the streets screaming over equality and fair rights.”
You smiled, “I would never even consider it.” You tried to laugh to make my statement seem more convincing.
[[Finish the day and go home]] <img src="./images/pink.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/nice.mp3" autoplay />
The sky was slowly turning pink as you walked out of the building. you looked up and saw a woman fly by. She must be on her way home. You trudged to the maglev train station. You walked onto the train. It whizzed through the city. You used to be amazed by the view out the window as the world would blur together, but now it makes you feel nauseous. You tightly shut your eyes and imagined a world without any powers.
A world where you would be normal, where everyone would be…
You opened my eyes. What was I saying? A world like that did exist and it was terrible. We can never go back to it. Aidea is perfect. There's no need to think about the outside world. The doors of the maglev train opened and you ran out. You needed to talk to my parents.
You burst through the front door of my house, out of breath and sweating.
“There you are...how was work?” your mom said.
“It was fine, but I have a question,” you said.
“What is it?” my dad asked.
“Do you remember the APA?” you asked nervously.
“Yes, why do you ask?” my mom said.
“They came up today in a meeting,” I didn’t know how to explain my feelings to them.
Did I want to join or did I just want to belong to something? “Nevermind, it’s not important. If you will excuse me, I think I’m going to go to bed early tonight.”
[[Go upstairs to your room]]

You walked up to your room and quietly shut the door. You have never been this confused before. Maybe your life would be so much easier if you had powers.
[[Try to see if you can teleport]]
[[Go to bed]]<img src="./images/teleport.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />

You stood up on my bed. You stared at the furthest corner from the room. You closed my eyes and clenched your fists.
“And...teleport!” you said to myself. you opened my eyes. You were still on the bed. You shut your eyes and clenched your fists even harder. You took a deep breath. You imagined myself suddenly in the corner of the room, 5 feet from the bed. If you thought hard enough, you might end up there.
You opened my eyes again. You frowned and laid down inside your covers. You closed your eyes and forced yourself to sleep.

[[Next day]]<img src="./images/future.jpeg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/away.mp3" autoplay />
You walked to work the next day with a purpose. You had decided that you wanted to make a difference too.
You am going to try and convince the Water Manipulator to give more job opportunities to people without powers. All the other manipulators could have servants too. You're hoping he will agree to help you and that you can start something from this.
You were in such a daze as you walked into work, you almost bumped into the huge crowd of people standing outside.
“Oh sorry,” you mumbled as you focused your attention to the swarm outside the capital.
“Good morning,” a strange woman said, “Are you trying to get into the capital?”
“Yes, I am,” you began, “If you don’t mind, I need to try and catch the Water Manipulator early. I have something very important to talk to him about.”
“Oh yes, I am very familiar with the Water Manipulator,” the lady scrunched up her face in disgust, “He has so rudely declined all of my messages and emails, he might as well as ignore my existence. He even kicked me out of the maglev train station,” She glared at you, “So what makes you think he will listen to you?”
“Um… I… well I am very confident in my… “ you stuttered. I stared at her for a second and sighed. “Look, I am close family friends with the Water Manipulator and I apologize that you had such a bad experience with him. What’s your name? I can maybe talk to him for you.”
“My name is Jane, but you won’t want to mention that to him, or any of the elemental manipulators for that matter,” Jane responded.
“Why shouldn’t I? You deserve to be able to speak to them after all the effort you made,” you responded.
“They won’t want to talk to me since I’m just a powerless loser,” Jane said mockingly, “Not to mention I’m part of the APA.”
[[She's part of the APA?? Keep listening?]]
[[Quickly end the conversation]]<img src="./images/apa.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/pizz.mp3" autoplay />
Your mouth fell open.
You were talking to a real member of the APA! This woman seemed perfectly normal. You always thought powerless people who hated the government stuck out more.
Something gives you a sudden jolt of energy and you eagerly smiled. You were intrigued to meet someone who probably went through the same things as you.
“You don’t deserve the discrimination you have experienced. In fact no one does. Not you, not me, not any of the people here right now. I’m going in there and standing up for you guys,” you said. You were already planning on asking the Water Manipulator to become more involved with helping those without powers, but now you had more motivation.
[[Ask to join the APA!]]
[[Quickly end the conversation]] <img src="./images/city.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/nice.mp3" autoplay />
“Thank you for enlightening me! I must be on my way now” you said as you quickly walked away. But, as you got closer to the capitol, you wondered if you were doing the right thing.
When you entered the Manipulator meeting room, there was an ominous tone surrounding the conference room where the Manipulators sat to confer and make agreements.
They all stared at you. Your heart raced. Did they find out about your plan? You still respect these people, but you just want more equality in this society.
[[Stay silent]]
[[Speak up]]<img src="./images/apa.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/epic.mp3" autoplay />
You grabbed Jane’s hands in your own, “I would love to join the APA and fight for you guys. I’m going to ask the Water Manipulator to give more powerless people jobs and hopefully he will agree.”
“We’ll let you join. That’s a great idea, but don’t get your hopes up,” Jane responded. And make sure you don't let the Manipulators know that you are a part of our group. The only way we can make a change is to change the system from the inside out.
A distant bell rings and you realize that you are already late for work.
[[Quickly end the conversation]]
<img src="./images/hallway.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/wow.mp3" autoplay />
“We conducted an investigation on you,” the Water Manipulator said.
Your heart raced. Investigation? I looked down at your feet. “You are very special.”
You quickly looked up. He was smiling. All of the manipulators were smiling.
“I’m sorry, what is going on?” you asked. The Water Manipulator opened his mouth to speak. The Air manipulator raised her hand, implying for him to let her speak.
“Allow me to explain darling,” she said. “In your past, you have had multiple elemental manipulators in your bloodline. Some of our greatest leaders have been in your bloodline. And the greatest of them was Mark Samuel.” Your mouth fell open and your head went dizzy as your breathing quickened.
“Are you saying I’m related to the creator of this society?” you asked in awe. They nodded.
“As a descendant of Samuel’s bloodline, you have the strongest energy harvested in your body,” the Air manipulator replied. “Added along with multiple manipulators in your family, you have a very special chemistry. More special than ours even, which is why you haven’t been able to gain transportation.”
“So…” you replied. “What powers can I possess? Fire, Water, Air, or Earth?” They all stared at each other.
“All of them,” they said in unison. You caught your breath. It explains so much. All this time, you thought you had no place in this society. You had felt so lonely.
The feeling was amazing. You felt this new, yet familiar energy surge through your body.
“Time and training will help you sharpen your skills and powers darling,” the Air manipulator said.
“You will train with each of us to hone in on each of your powers,” the Fire manipulator said. You nodded eagerly.
Who do you want to train with first?
[[Water Manipulator]]
[[Air Manipulator]]
[[Fire Manipulator]]
[[Earth Manipulator]]
<img src="./images/hallway.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/pizz.mp3" autoplay />
“I’m sorry…” I whispered. The manipulators turn their head towards each other.
“Sorry for what darling?” The Air Manipulator said.
“I thought-”

<img src="./images/air.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/away.mp3" autoplay />
"Air manipulaton is such a beautiful craft, I'd really love to learn it first," you say, beaming with excitment.
"I'm so excited to train you, darling!" the Air Manipulator said, beaming with joy.
She leads you out of the meeting rooom and leads you towards a beautiful room with cherry blossoms. <img src="./images/waterman.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/nice.mp3" autoplay />
"I'd like to train with the Water manipulator first since he's been my mentor and family friend all this time," you smile and look at the Water manipulator. He smiles and nods.
"Follow me," the Water manipulator says, leading you out of the room and towards a training room. There was a sign at the top with a water symbol. You'd never stepped foot inside the room because it was forbidden for those who were not Water manipulators. You had only seen the beautiful flowing fountains and the small lake at the center of the room through the glass windows.
You follow the Water manipulator inside and he takes you in front of the small crystal blue lake. <img src="./images/fire.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/nice.mp3" autoplay />
"I've always been interesting in seeing how to control fire," you say, looking at the Fire manipulator. "If fire was the first every power unlocked by my ancestor, Mark Samuel, I think that would be a great first start for me too."
The Fire manipulator smiled at these words, filled with pride. "Fire can both create and destroy life, so I think it is a great place to start for you."
He guides you out of the meeting room and takes you towards a training room with a sign at the top containing a fire emblem. <img src="./images/elements.jpg" height = "200" width = "300" />
<audio src="./audio/epic.mp3" autoplay />
"I don't think I've ever seen the Earth Manipulator at work," you say. "Maybe I could try to activate my Earth manipulation powers with him!"
"Sounds like a perfect plan for me," he smiles.
