Project 5
Making a short movie.

Create a 3 minutes digital video.

Create a 3-minute movie using Premiere.  This movie should be created mainly using still images and various audio files.

Suggestions: Write a short script for the movie or adopt a story that you already know such as a fairy tale or an interesting story you heard or read.  You can also consider various genres such as political satire, documentary, current events or other areas that you may want to explore.

Do not use one sound track and script a movie to suit the sound track such as what you would see in music videos.

Do not have the appearance of a slide show.  Animate your script.  Many examples will be shown in class to illustrate this point.

You are allowed to use video clips but not to exceed 5% of the total duration of the movie.  You can use images of your choice that already in existence or create for this purpose.

Note:

When you import files to the project they are not embedded in the project – they are only linked to the project.  Make sure that you don’t break the links.  Create a folder and save the project and the assets such as images and audio clips in the same folder and import all the assets within the folder.  Also keep a duplicate of the folder in the server as a backup just incase you corrupt your document.

Resolution for your images -72 pixels/inch
Audio – avoid using MP3 files.  Use AIF or Wav files.

Do not wait until you have the script completed to start using Premiere.  If you are not ready with the script start using Premiere with any sample images and get familiar with the software.
