My name is MaryAnne Onianwah, and I am an Information Science major, with a minor in Nonprofit Leadership and Social Innovation. I am also a student in the Science and Global Change Scholars program at the University of Maryland. As a Science and Global Change scholar, I hope to learn more about the ever-changing world around us, and what we can do as future leaders in order to make the change a positive one. As an Information Science major, I hope to learn more about how different demographics, in particular minority populations, interact with technology and learn what I can do to make these interactions more accessible.

In these next few years at the university, I would like to do research in human-computer interaction, as well as engage in several black student clubs and organizations. I hope that in the two years as an SGC scholar, I hope to combine the knowledge that I acquire in both my major courses as well as the colloquiums to become a better global citizen.
