Hi, I'm Makenzie! I'm a freshman at the University of Maryland and I am an Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Major.



In May of 2021, I graduated from the Academy of Health Sciences, a middle college program, in which I took high school classes and college courses concurrently. I received an Associate's Degree in general studies as well as my high school diploma. I am currently interested in pursuing the field of meteorology, as the weather has always fascinated me. I've been particularly interested in studying severe weather phenomena, such as tornadoes and hurricanes, and how to forecast and better predict them. Another specific interest of mine is geography. I love locating areas on maps and learning about different regions; in the future, I want to travel and will potentially study abroad.
