Math 151a Description and Prerequisites
Math 151a, Applied Numerical Methods I (4 credits --- three
hours of lecture, one hour of discussion, letter grading)
Introduction to numerical methods with emphsis on algorithms,
analysis of algorithms, and computer implementation issues.
Direct methods for solving linear systems, machine arithmetic,
solutions of nonlinear equations, interpolation, numerical
integration, and numerical differentiation.
