Event name: New York Field Trip
Event time and place: November 22, 2025, New York
When highlight that I have with the excursion was the name change of the naming of dinosaurs such as the duck bill type of dinosaurs where their name change because more people were a keen to the shape of a duck bill rather than the original name which now opens the idea that two people can understand the same thing the majority of people would understand as one with the certain name. Another highlight I had was also seeing the model of the T-Rex used in Jurassic Park logo. I like Jurassic Park a lot and it was really cool seeing Rexie, the skeleton in person watching all the films. One of the two outdated models presented were the one of the dinosaurs first walking into the exhibition because Dr. hosts explained to us that instead of being quadrupedal, the dinosaur was more bipedal with a large leaning torso. And the other one was the inaccurate legs that were used for the T-Rex. Another way to propose information can’t be with an image for the first issue showing or demonstrating how the dinosaur would’ve lived. And for the T-Rex, the large issue is removing the exhibition from there and replacing the legs with more accurate ones, which would be very difficult to do.
Me and Brady went to the marine animal exhibit, and not knowing much about the museum only from the movie such as the night museum I did not notice this was a particular part of it. Walking in immediately, I was shocked by the amount of models of animals hanging throughout the walls and the ceilings and immediately was in aw. Walking in to the right of the hallway you can see animals such as crustaceans and aquatic animals such as amphibians and more and more further you go down, you’ll see more animals, such as turtles, see cucumbers, and coral, which I thought was very fascinating. For these sections, they provided different specimens in case in jars with some labeling is a provided context on the types of turtles provide provided such as 15 different species of turtles, which was very fascinating. Good thing was that there was no terrapins in them. And overall provided me a large context of what life water provides to all not just mammals but different species because in all honesty, I saw many different types of crustaceans and aquatic life that I wasn’t used to seeing.
