Hi! My name is Jillian Conway, and I am a sophomore studying Information Science at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am originally from Eldersburg, Maryland which is only about one hour from College Park. I am currently in my second year of the Science and Global Change Scholars Program and am also in the Ski and Snowboard club that they offer at UMD.

As of now, I plan to graduate in May of 2026 with an Information Science degree and a specialization in Data Science. Additionally, I was recently accepted into the Robert H. School of Business, and after I receive my undergraduate degree in 2026, I will start my master's degree in Information Systems. In the summer of 2024, I interned as a software engineer at the tech company Clarity Innovations. At this site, I learned many new skills while also completing my practicum project. With these new skills, I was able to land a new internship at Booz Allen as a Data Scientist for this upcoming summer. Using my knowledge from these internships, my undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as everything I have experienced in SGC, I hope to enter the field of data science and apply it to solving the challenges of today's world.
