Study Breaks... or Study Replacers

Need something to do to distract you from your studies? I've got quite the supply... Here are just a few of my poisons:

Alien Detector Pro

Want to see if you're being approached by any alien beings? Download the Alien Detector Pro! You can scan to see if there are any aliens close by or scan yourself to detect any possible abductee experiences. A must have.
Beer Tender

Do you find yourself lacking in alcohol knowledge? Someone offer you "Sex on the Beach" and you thought you were getting really lucky, only to humiliatingly find out they were only offering you a drink? My friend, you are in need of "100 Proof: The Official Cocktail Planner for the Next Millennium." Then the next time someone asks you for Sex on the Beach, you'll know to mix 1 oz. Midori or other melon-flavored liqueur, 1 oz. crème de cassis, 3 oz. pineapple juice, and 3 oz. cranberry juice in a shaker with ice, shake well, strain into a highball glass with ice, serve... and hope for a nice "thank you" after the drink...
Elf Bowling

Bowling with Elves standing in as the pins... what could be better?
Elf Bowling 2

Were you a fan of Elf Bowling 1999? Well, here's the next year's version, Elf Bowling 2: Elves in Paradise. A game of shuffleboard with Elves as pucks. Note that shooting penguins brings you extra points! So download this sucker, and get to snapping those elves' thongs!
Frogapult

How can you not love a game that requires catapulting (or in this case, frogapulting) frogs across a pool with piranhas without going too far into the waiting mouth of an alligator? In later rounds, you also have to dodge the seagulls who are flying around, waiting to catch airborn froggies! A time honoured classic.
Hearts

Standard Windows material, great to play over the network, or just with the figments of the computer's imagination...
Jezzball

The point here is to clear 75% of the grey area of the screen to advance to the next round. You can't get hit by the balls, which bounce around the screen, while you're doing it, though. You start with 2 balls, and each level adds another. They also make noise when they hit the sides, which can get a little hypnotic after you have enough doing it at the same time... You are getting very sleepy... Just what you need to postpone that studying!
Minesweeper

Another standard Windows game, but it can be addicting... How many games do you have to blow yourself up in before you can triumph?
Same Game

Ok, here you want to clear the screen as best you can. When you get two or more of the same letter together, you can remove them. The more letters removed together, the more points you get. Not my favourite distraction, but it can get the job done.
Solitaire

The most classic of all computer game distractions, this really needs no explaination...
Space Cadet Pinball

Love Pinball? Love Roger Wilco? Here's the perfect combination for you: Space Cadet Pinball! Complete missions, starting with the basics like target training, launching training, etc., and elevating to exciting adventures such as bug hunt missions. How can you possibly resist?
Taipei

Clear the tiles by finding two matching ones that are free (on the top/sides) - when you clear them all, you'll be rewarded with an exciting fortune! Someone must have raided the fortune cookies for this one...
Tetris

My poison of choice... Tetris is the ultimate. Only problem with this version is that it doesn't go further than Level 10. Not that you typically live long on Level 10 anyway, but it's a disappointment. Still, I like to fix my work/play ratio to something like 2 minutes work for every 15 minutes of Tetris. I wonder why papers take so long to write...?
Uno

The card game on computer - no need to find those three other procrastinators to play with, you're computer'll work just fine. Lots of cute noises for reverses, skips, and "Uno!"
