Science has always been the highlight of my academic life, anything from supermassive black holes to subatomic particles would surely snatch my attention. Throughout high school, I discovered my particular inclination toward chemistry. From medicines to food science or computer chips, chemistry is everywhere, so I figured it was something I had to pursue at college. As a freshman chemical engineer just beginning my journey into the world of university life and academics, I am eager to embrace both the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead. While the rigorous schooling to come may be slightly intimidating, I am more intrigued and inspired by the possibilities that my future may hold with the abundance of incredible research and career opportunities presented at Maryland. Alongside my learning interests, I am participating in the TerpRockets club on the liquid fuel team, a member of the ChemE car club’s battery team, and a part of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers student group here at UMD. During my studies, I am eager to explore the deeper concepts of electrochemistry and intend to earn a minor in nanoscience and technology. With the possibility of engaging in semiconductor research, I hope to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to break into the industry of microtechnology!
