The power train team is essential in getting the solarcar race-worthy. As the largest design group of the team, it has been divided to support the solar array and the propulsion system. The array has been designed to maximize solar cell efficiency and retain vehicle shape. The core of students involved with the solar array will be responsible for improving the energy storage and distribution of the array. The propulsion system consists of the motor, controller and transmission. The team members are responsible for installing a new, more efficient motor and controller and the tuning the system for the race.
