James A. Harriot

James A. Harriot was born on 19 May 1766.1 He was the son of George Harriot and Mary Ayers.

James A. Harriot married Phebe Cutter, daughter of Stephen Cutter and Tabithia Randolph.

James A. Harriot was a general in the War of 1812.1 He was a Justice of the Peace, and an elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.1 He served as Postmaster of Perth Amboy from 1830 to 1841.1 He was elected Mayor of Perth Amboy in 1844.1

James A. Harriot died on 15 November 1848 at age 82.1 He was buried in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, New Jersey.1
