Timothy Gay died on 29 May 1793 in Dedham, Massachusetts, at age 89.1,2,8,4 He was buried in the South Parish Cemetery, Dedham, Massachusetts; a transcription of his gravestone inscription gave a different month for his death: "In memory of Ensn Timothy Gay, who died Mar. 29th, 1793, in the 90th year of his age."9
