Thomas Morse was the son of Thomas Morse and Agnes ____.1
Thomas Morse was a minister who held the living of Boxted, County Essex, from 1573 to 1578 when he resigned.1 He continued to live at Boxted until 1583.1 On 14 July 1583 he was inducted as rector of Hinderclay, in northern Suffolk, and from about 1594 until his death he was rector of Foxearth, County Essex.1

Thomas Morse left a will dated 10 November 1596 and proved 28 April 1597; according to the 1929 article by G. Andrews Moriarty, Jr.: Rev. Thomas Morse bequeathed to his "nyne children noew living nyne score pounds," that is, twenty pounds to every child, the eight sons, who were named, to receive their legacies at the age of twenty-three, and the daughter, Sara, to receive her twenty pounds at the age of twenty-one. He bequeathed also to his brother, Richard Mosse, 50s., and to his sister, Margaret Morse, 20s. To his eldest son [John] he gave all the books in his study and to his wife Margaret the residue of his estate, and she was to bring up the children in learning.2
