Joseph Josselyn

Joseph Josselyn was born on 26 July 1663 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1,2 Carol Kroeger's book gives 5 May 1663.3 He was the son of Abraham Josselyn and Beatrice Hampson.1

He was captured by Indians in the attack on Lancaster in February 1675/76, and was carried into captivity together with his brother Abraham's wife and her daughter. Unlike them, he was released by some friendly Indians, who took him to Norwich, Connecticut in May 1676.4

Joseph Josselyn died on 5 September 1726 in Abington, Massachusetts, at age 63.1
