Excerpt from letter to H. DeVoe from his grandmother, Ella Josselyn, Thanksgiving Day, 1956:
Enclosed is a paper ["Lucy Card plot"] which I would appreciate your signing, inasmuch as you apparently are one of the heirs to this cemetery lot, and of age. We have all signed it, and would you please add your name and mail it in the enclosed envelope. This Mrs. Manwaring was Rosamond May before she married. She called me on the 'phone a few nights ago from Needham and explained that her Uncle, Harold Bliss, her Mother's brother, has died in a town way up New York state, his body was cremated and they are holding the ashes until all heirs to the cemetery lot signed their approval. This Lucy Card is the one who willed her estate to Edgar and his Sister, Mrs. Bliss, and the lot has been "in trust" ever since. News to me, that we are owner of "another" cemetery lot. This Mrs. Manwarings' Grandmother, Mrs. Bliss, and your Dede [Edgar Josselyn] were brother and sister.
