Mrs. Elizabeth R. Fowler.

Mrs. Elizabeth R Fowler, who has been in poor health for some time, died at her home on Fowler avenue, this village at 1 o'clock. Friday morning, March 24, 1922 Death was due to grip and paralysis of the throat.

She was born in New York City on Sept. 19, 1841, and was 80 years, 6 months and 5 days old. Her parents were Durant and Mary A. F. (Fields) Burnett. On Dec 8, 1860, she was united in marriage with James H. Fowler, who died twenty-three years ago. Two sons, J Edson Fowler, of Brewster, and William H. Fowler, of Vineland, N. J., and one daughter, Clara, wife of Alexander Lee, who has lived with her, survive. Her eldest son, Ellsworth Fowler, died Oct. 7, 1920. She also leaves four grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-grandson, besides two sisters, Mrs. Cox, of Mt. Kisco, and Mrs. Mayne, of Katonah.

Mrs. Fowler was a member of Drew M. E. Church, and had held membership in that denomination for many years. She was a woman of quiet ways, always sociable and pleasant, and took the greatest comfort in looking after her family where she was ever the devoted wife and loving, faithful [illegible] She was the type of woman who [illegible] friends but no enemies.

She was most tenderly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ellsworth Fowler. The sympathy of the community goes out to the daughter and sons in their sorrow and mourning for their beloved mother.

The funeral services will be held at the residence of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ellsworth Fowler, on Monday at 1 p. m. Rev A. _. Ehle, pastor of the Baptist Church will officiate, and the burial will be in the family plot, beside her husband in Raymond Hill Cemetery.---Putnam County Republican.
