From inscription on reverse of original photograph: The picture represents the scene just after [Fannie Sheldon Noble] unveiled the Monument by drawing aside the flag which draped it. The grey haired gentleman seated in the center at the front of the canopy is [General William Henry] Noble. The gentleman seated at his right is Governor Lounsbury of Connecticut--who was a private soldier in the Regiment--the one at his left--is Rev. Dr. William K. Hall of Newburgh, New York who was the Chaplain of the Regiment.
