CHATHAM -- Frank Kenneth DeVoe, 90, a founding member of the Chatham Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, died Monday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of Martha (Josselyn) DeVoe since 1931.

Born and educated in White Plains, N.Y., Mr. DeVoe received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Cooper Union Institute of Technology in New York City in 1929. Following graduation, he joined the Bell Telephone System, holding various positions in New York Telephone Co., Bell Telephone Laboratories and Western Electric Co. He retired in 1970 after 41 years of service.

He married in 1931 and lived in Pleasantville, N.Y., for nearly 30 years, then in Connecticut before moving to Chatham in 1978.

Mr. DeVoe was a member of the Cape Cod Viewfinders Camera Club and the Chatham Retired Men's Association. He was a founding member of the Chatham Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, now the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House. He arranged for the speakers and guest ministers and led the Sunday services for the first nine years.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Howard DeVoe of Frederick, Md.; and Robert DeVoe of Bloomington, Ind.; a daughter, Nancy Webert of Naples, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 19 at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House in Chatham. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
