Dear Mr DeVoe, I have just been looking at your most interesting site. My husband and I live in Essex, England and my husband’s grandmother was Charlotte Anne Troupe born 6 Nov 1895, Wingate Co. Durham. She was the daughter of Jane Troup born 6 August 1879 Hutton Henry Co, Durham who in turn was the daughter of David Robertson Troupe and Ann Weighill. Charlotte must have been an illegitimate daughter of Jane because it states on her birth cert – father unknown. Jane Troupe later went on to marry Ernest Wren and had 11 children by him. The photos on your site were amazing and seem to bring the family alive. Thank you so much for sharing your site.
