This is me doing my #ScholarsServes Event as a TED Talk Transcriber!
For my #ScholarsServes event, I chose to be a TED Talk Transcriber. So, my task was to transcribe a TED Talk. This allows people who are auditorily impaired or deaf to be able to watch and enjoy TED Talks, reading subtitles instead of listening to the talk. Basically, as a TED Transcriber, I had to watch the TED Talk, write down subtitles of what the speaker was saying, time the subtitles to align with the speaker, then review the overall product, all while following guidelines set by TED. An example of a guideline is that the subtitle reading speed had to be 21 characters/second or less.
