Eowyn's Homepage

This page is very much currently under construction. However, I should at least introduce myself. I am Eowyn. My name is from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and fits me (hey, I can do a lot of things that are allegedly men's area). I needed a name to use as a squire in a local joust troup, and someone suggested it. I have heard several translations, my personal favorites are "Lover of Horses" or "Horse Maiden.". I did legally take the name when I got married.

I am a member of Thrir Venstri Foetr (old Norse for 3 Left Feet) a historical dance troup since 1990 as well as the Village Dance Ensemble at the MD Renaissance Festival in Crownsville, MD since 1995 (or so). The Village Ensemble performs right after opening gate (usually 10:30-11:30) in front of the glass blower's booth and in 1999 taught some dances in the afternoon as well.

While the Joust Troup (Knights of the Nearly Round Table) is no longer active, I do have non-dance period interests. Specifically the Longship Company.

I am the proud owner of two horses an appendix QH mare who is double registered with the Belgian Warmbloods and her approved Belgian warmblood filly.

In my (not exactly copious) free time, I also enjoy roller-coasters, carousels, music such as Clam Chowder, and community theater such as the Greenbelt Arts Center. I did some set work for Play On! which is a wonderful play and I highly recommend it. I have also worked (tech or dancing) for 12th Night (GAC), Bye Bye Birdie (GAC), The Importance of Being Ernest (MAD), and my favorite play Godspell (SSTG). I have been called in for partial runs of Music Man, Connecticut Yankee in King Arther's Court, and 3 Musketeers.

I have also helped a friend of mine with the game SuperNova a wonderfully fun collectable card game with no 'rich-kid-syndrome' problems. And enjoy several other gaming activities.
