Hi, my name is Eric, and I am a sophomore majoring in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland. I am graduating from the Science and Global Change Scholars program and am also a member of the Terrapin Rockets Team, where I contribute to the design and launch of high-powered rockets for competition. Outside of engineering, I enjoy participating in UMD Club Running and the Terrapin Trail Club.

So far, my experience at UMD has been extremely rewarding, from meeting new people to becoming involved in engaging student organizations. One of the things I appreciate most about the university is access to its wide range of facilities and opportunities, including the Neutral Buoyancy Research Facility, which is one of the few facilities of its kind located on a college campus. I am excited to continue becoming more involved in aeronautical and hands-on engineering projects that make use of the resources available at UMD.

Recently, I completed a practicum at Northrop Grumman’s additive manufacturing facility in Chandler, where I worked with industrial aerospace 3D printing systems supporting both flight and non-flight hardware production. The experience gave me valuable exposure to real engineering workflows, manufacturing processes, and the practical side of aerospace design.

Over the next few years, I hope to continue expanding my knowledge of aerospace engineering through hands-on projects such as Terrapin Rockets, future industry experiences, and my coursework at UMD.
