Visting the National Gallery of Art
Excursion to DC
Early on in my first semester at UMD, my SGC class members and I went on a trip to DC that was initially taken to teach us about the Metro system. In our small group of four, we spent most of our time at the National History Museum, taking pictures with dinosaur skeletons, giant bugs, and even the Hope Diamond. After that we went to the National Gallery of Art, where we saw incredible pieces of artwork, many many landscapes. To end our trip, we visited the American History Museum, where we watched to two mini-documentaries on immigration and the American Revolution, the majority of our time spent in this museum was getting lost in the Civil War exhibit. It was an insightful day, one where I learned to navigate through a new city as well as explore different museums.
