I'm Divyansh Srivastava, a freshman aerospace engineering major at the University of Maryland-College Park. I'm a member of the College Park Scholars—Science and Global Change program. An extracurricular activity I'm involved in is the Terrapin Rockets, the main rocket team at the University of Maryland. My role on that team involves the Active Vertical Stabilization and Aerostructures subsystems, where we try to improve those aspects of the competition rocket. The competition is in June 2024 in New Mexico. So far, I love my UMD experience. I enjoy hanging out with new friends I made throughout the first semester. I live all the way up north in Boston, Massachusetts, so the environment here is completely new. For the next four years, I want to get more involved with Terrapin Rockets and with the South Asian student-run organizations on campus. On top of that, I intend to gain research and internships throughout my summers in college so I can get first-hand experience with what being an aerospace engineer entails.
