Hello, my name is Dustin and I'm a freshman bioengineering major at the University of Maryland. I'm from Laurel, Maryland and I just graduated from Atholton High School. I love playing music in my freetime and I'm even in the university band here at UMD. I mainly play percussion, but I always love trying to pick up new instruments. I'm also big into movies, both watching and making them!
In my first semester at the University of Maryland, I've already joined plenty of clubs. I am in Engineers Without Boarders working on an evaporative cooling method for a health clinic in Senegal. I am also in Maryland Filmmakers where I am not only helping others film their movies, but writing and directing some of my own short films as well.
In the next four years, I want to continue to grow into my life at UMD. I want to become a leader in the Biomedical Engineering Society. I would like to be a sublead in Engineers without Borders and travel to Senegal to help implement some of our designs. And I would like to hopefully get a job here on campus so I can further fund my education!
