Hello, my name is Dustin and I'm a sophomore bioengineering major at the University of Maryland. I'm from Laurel, Maryland and I graduated from Atholton High School. I love playing music in my freetime. I'm in the university band here at UMD as well as a new punk rock band. I mainly play percussion, but I always love trying to pick up new instruments. I'm also big into movies, both watching and making them!
In my first year at the University of Maryland, I already joined plenty of clubs and gotten a couple jobs. I am in Engineers Without Boarders working both on a project in Senegal and as treasurer of the UMD chapter. I am also a part of Project LIFT, where we help local businesses improve their online presence. I also help out in the Biomedical Engineering Society by volunteering locally and planning Meet Your Professor events. Not only that, but I work at McKeldin Library and the TerrapinWorks woodshop.
In the next four years, I want to continue to grow into my life at UMD. I want to become a leader in the Biomedical Engineering Society and continue work in Engineers without Borders and travel to Senegal to help implement some of our designs. I want to also improve my woodworking skills as I begin training at the TerrapinWorks woodshop on campus.
