Chuck Delwiche
in the 21st Century

My partner, John Aaron Blanchette, posing on a Jersey Donkey. The cowboy hat is because he used to dance with the DC Cowboys, and still has a lot of friends in the troupe.

You may also want to see him at Lake Tahoe, with a wheel barrow, or Belly Dancing.

My father, Constant C. Delwiche, died September 22, 2001 at the age of 83. He was a professor at the University of California and was among the first scientists to examine global environmental change. He was also a major general and a World War II combat veteran. In his spare time he built houses, furniture, and telescopes, tended a garden, and helped raise six sons. He will be missed.

To a significant extent our natures are predetermined, or at least formed before we have much of anything to say about it. Some of us struggle against ourselves for years. Me, I pretty much gave in right away. This is my first-grade lunch box. I carried it thoughout primary school. A dent near the starboard warp nacelle is the result of a bus-stop dispute in first grade. Alas, I ignored the advice of my high-school guidance counselors and librarian, the latter of whom suggested in 1979 that I take up a career in computer user-interface design. Instead I decided to became a botanist, so I still work for a living.
