I am a freshman from Abingdon MD, and I am a Animal Science major in the Science and Global Change Program. I am already a part of some organizations on campus, including club volleyball and TerpSki. Unlike many others in my major, I do not plan on attending Vet school, but I do plan on dedicating my future work to improving the lives of animals. During my senior year, I volunteered at the Maryland SPCA and fell in love with the animals there. I love seeing the influence of my volunteering or help on other people, or in my case, the animals I worked with. My purpose would be to make a difference in the world, whether it be through an animals or the people I meet along the way. I think that is why the scholars program is such a great opportunity for me, allowing me to seize new opportunities and meet a variety of people. I am super excited to continue my journey through Maryland and the Science and Global Change Program!
