My name is Corina Miko and I am from Lanham, MD. I am a current freshman within the College of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland. My major is Microbiology within the Department of Biology. Through the Science and Global Scholars Program I hope to learn more about the ever-changing Earth, learn about the different fields of natural science, as well as meet new people. Environmentalism and humans' role in climate change are important to me and things that I hope to learn more about throughout my time in Scholars. In the future I hope to pursue a career in a medical research. On campus I am a member of Club Tennis, the University's chapter of the American Microbiology Society, and the American Medical Womens Association. Overall, during my time here at the University of Maryland I hope to become a more well-rounded student and person all while meeting new people and trying new things.
