Deformable Bodies, ENME
489Y/808Y
Deformation and failure mechanisms for solids made of
metals, ceramics, and polymers are considered with their mathematical
and design models. Plasticity models describe the load induced
permanent deformation of metals. The indentation hardness tests are
related to plasticity. The fracture, fatigue, and creep modes of
failure analysis seeks to explain the mechanism, the use in design and
their interrelation.
