Me on a hike in Cinque Terre, Italy with my family
Hi I'm Brooke Phillips, a freshman at the University of Maryland in the A. James Clark School of Engineering. I am a Mechanical Engineering major and am working towards a minor in Spanish Language, Culture, and Professional Contexts. I am also a part of College Park Scholars on campus in the Science and Global Change program.
Within this first month of school I have enjoyed getting to know the campus and my classes. The dining halls are great and I especially enjoy late night runs to the North Campus Market with my friends for late night study snacks. I've also found that the McKeldin Library and Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center are great places for studying, especially before big tests. I have also enjoyed getting to know my way around the Eppley fitness center and getting to participate in club field hockey to keep myself active. I hope to continue settling into my classes as I become more immersed in my major as well as meet more people.
