Hi, I'm Braden, a freshman astronomy major at the University of Maryland College Park. I am also thinking about double majoring in physics. My experience at UMD so far has been nothing short of amazing and I am so happy that I chose to come here all the way from Rhode Island. Some of my favorite things to do around campus are playing poker with friends in a lounge, and walking around downtown. I am part of the College Park Scholars Science and Global Change Program because it heavily correlates with my major of astronomy. Astronomy is very science based and there are many connections to this program within it. For example, the global warming topics of SGC could prompt our earth to be uninhabitable so I would like to learn about these possibilities and be able to prepare for what might come in my field of Astronomy.
