Read Chapters 4 and 5.

Solve problems 3.1, 4.11, and one of 5.4, 5.5, and 5.6. If you are
a structures person, solve 5.6.
Homework is due 2nd October.

In problem 3.1 you will need to use the correct "conversion specifications"
for the unsigned long etc.. data types. A listing of "conversion specifications"
may be found in Table [14.2].

In problem 5.6, "Q" is the uniform load (with units force/length) applied
to the right-hand side of the beam. I suggest that you rearrange (5.3)
and compute the deflection as y(x)/L.
