Constance Baker Motley

	Constance Baker Motley is a brave lawyer who fought 
	legal battles which made a difference in the lives 
	of African American people. In the 1950's it was a 
	law that African American's could not got go to
	 school with white American's, but Constance fought
	  for a client named James Meredith so he could go 
	  to school with white students. She was victorious.
	   In 1965 she was elected Manhattan borough's
	    president in New York City. Then in 1966 
		President Johnson appointed her United States 
		district judge. Constance Baker Motley was born
		 in 1921 in New Haven, Connecticut and is now 
		 77 years old. Constance has not died and is
		  still famous for her struggles for blacks.
