This stamp commemorates Zora Neale Hurston.
Zora was born in Eatonville, Florida in 1903.
She was a bright girl with a very mischievous
spirit. She liked to listen to people reading
wonderful books on the back porch of the town's
general store. Zora was a very good writer.
She collected wonderful folktales. She wrote a
very popular novel Their Eyes Were Watching God.
