Bald Eagles, by Lisa J.

This stamp commemorates a bald eagle the Apache tribe trapped. The Apache Indians trapped bald eagles, not for food, but for their headdresses. Once the Apache trapped the eagle, two or three feathers were plucked. Then the bird was set free. Like most Indians, the Apache did not believe in killing something which was not necessary to be killed. The eagle feathers in the headdress was a symbol of great courage. The colors I chose to draw the bald eagle were dark brown, black, white, and a golden yellow. I chose those colors because those are the colors of bald eagles.
