This stamp commemorates the Southwest Indians. They would make beautiful pottery. The Southwest Indians used really neat geometric shapes. The pottery was used to store food and water. They got the bright colors on the pottery from nature such as plants and berries. The materials used to make the pottery was clay and sand. When they would mix clay and sand, they would coil the clay and sand to build up the sides of the pottery. The pictures on my stamp is what I think there pottery looked like.
