This is your personal connection to the technology resources that the Division of Information Technology offers to University of Maryland students. TerpConnect is a launch pad consolidating these tools and resources. Before using TerpConnect or any computing resources on campus please be sure to check out the Acceptable Use Policy.
Resources available through TerpConnect include:
- Personal Resources
TerpConnect provides all current students, faculty and staff on campus an Unix account with 5 GB of personal storage space. Users also have login access to the general purpose login boxes. The disk storage can be accessed from these login boxes, computers in a Division of IT managed computer lab, or from any computer on the internet with the proper credentials. This storage is backed up nightly. You are also able to create your own web pages on the TerpConnect server.
- Resources for Classes
The Glue Research and Academic Computing Environment ( GRACE) is designed to help meet some of the information technology needs of faculty, students, and reseachers at the University of Maryland. Instructors can request GRACE spaces be created for courses they are teaching, which will provide some disk and compute resources for students registered for the course, as well as some facilities for sharing files and creating password protected web pages for the course. Researchers can also apply for some modest file and compute resources for their research.
