Hurrican Katrina was the costliest hurricane in United States History. It was among the fifth deadliest in Us history as well as the sixth strongest in Atlantic history.
During the Summer of 2005 Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas, crossed the Gulf of Mexico, and passed directly over New Orleans, Louisiana.

Slowly the city is returning to normal, but the subburbs are still very dillapidated. The superdome, home to the New Orleans Saints, has risen as an emblem of hope and rebuilding to the city.
