How to use?

Alphabet index is linked to the Japanese Related LC Subject Headings/Period Subdivision Table, which provides detailed information on historical periods under each heading, LC class numbers, and Japanese translations in some cases. Cross-references are provided only when period subdivisions are involved. Table of Common Japanese Period Subdivisions and their Japanese translations are also provided at the beginning of the main table.

About the Period Subdivision Table:

· Related LC Subject Headings: Arranged in alphabetical order

· Period Subdivisions: Arranged in chronological order

· LC Class Numbers: Adopted form LCSH at the time of compilation. When an exact match between the subject heading and class number is NOT available, then a broader class number or range of class numbers are given. In some cases temporarily invalid subdivisions were created (in square brackets) in order to identify the available class numbers more precisely.
