  • Problem Sets 1 through 5 are on the course website (links below).
  • I have also posted solutions to Problem Sets 1 and 2. The rest are coming .....
  • Section 1: Tuesdays 6:30pm - 9:00pm on June 14, 21, 28, July 05, 12, 19, 26, August 16, 23 = 9 lectures.
  • Section 2: Weekdays 8:30am - 11:30am, August 15 - 24 = 8 lectures.
  • This is a non-credit course and free to any student admitted to the degree programs in the School of Public Policy.
  • A note on the recommended textbook. I have assigned Mathematics with Applications, by Margaret L. Lial, Thomas W. Hungerford, and John Holcomb (Addison-Wesley). I am still using the 9th edition although the 10th edition has just been published. If you choose to buy the text, I have no strict preference for either edition. You may also choose to buy used (older editions) at discounts, or loan them from a library. Any college level mathematics textbook will do .... as long as they match the contents (see table of contents using the links to the editions above). The purpose of the text is to give you an additional perspective/explanation of the concepts, and additional questions for you to practice your skills with. You can email me if you have lingering doubts.
