AVR STK-500 KIT FROM ATMEL

I bought this kit last year as most of my projects are centered on the ATMEL's AVR family of microcontrollers. Before this kit, I had a self built programmer which could program only the 20 pin AT90S2313 controller. The AT90S2313 has since been declared obsolete and has been replaced by what is now called the 'ATtiny2313'. The 'tiny2313 is pin to pin compatible with its predecessor except for some minor hardware changes. For more info, visit the ATMEL website.

ATMEL AVR DRAGON

The AVR dragon is basically an emulator for devices with 32KB or less flash memory. It is USB powered and is capable of sourcing an external target. A prototype area allows simple programming and debugging. I haven't really started using this kit and plan to do so soon for one of my bigger projects, the details of which will be put up under the PROJECTS section.

SPARTAN-3 STARTER KIT

This kit was a parting gift from my former roommate Mainak Sen, who now works at Cisco Systems, Inc. I really owe him big time for this. I have developed a keen interest in FPGA/CPLD's over the last few years but most of the starter kits, unlike that for microcontrollers, were kind of expensive. Right now I am trying to get familiar with Verilog and should get going soon with my first FPGA project. Thanks Mainak & Basu!
