I'm a Ph.D. student in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. My research interests lie in the broad areas of information retrieval, information seeking and use, natural language processing, and cognition. Some sub-areas that I am interested in and have been working in include:
- Sensemaking: processes, activities, mechanisms, and tools
- Interactive information retrieval
- Information seeking behavior and cognition
- User-centered design and evaluation
- Natural language processing
- Decision making
My advisor is Dr. Dagobert Soergel. I have worked on the Global Autonomous Language Exploitation (GALE) project since Fall 2006 with Dr. Douglas Oard and Dr. Judith Klavans. I have also worked with Dr. Jimmy Lin on complex interactive Question Answering (ciQA).
