Title of Project: Operations and Facilities - Operations Assistant

Decscription of Project: Ryan's project was a description of the work done at the different athletic events of the Maryland sports teams. The goal of his various activities was to produce successful athletic events. Ryan also wants to become a supervisor.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?: Ryan said that the main benefits he got from doing this project were he got really unique views and pictures of sporting events and was able to interact with fellow coworkers.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?: According to Ryan, the hardest part was trying to come up with the statements that went on his poster.

Title of Project: Effects of Methamphetamine on Rat Brain

Decscription of Project: The objective of Hyoung's project was to study the brain area called the Ventral Techmental Area (VTA). He did this to figure out what the VTA specifically does, and he injected meth into the rats to see how it affected them. He discovered that the VTA is excitetatory.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?: Hyoung learned how to do basic lab techniques and he also learned lab processes that aren't taught in college.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?: The hardest part of the project for Hyoung was learning how to research and reading long papers with many complex words.

Mokshya Sharma

Title of Project: Clinical Experience at the University Health Center

Decscription of Project: Mokshya worked in the primary health care unit and pharmacy at the University Health Center. She gave out prescriptions, and the goal of her project was to better understand what she wanted to do after college.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?: Mokshya learned what it would be like to be in the medical profession and to work in the pharmacy field.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?: The hardest part for Mokshya was to make sure that she kept patient confidentiality.
