10.05.99 Its seems like from the attitudes we all have established by now (senior year) its pretty easy to predict where we think (others, not necessarily ourselves) we will end up eventually. Or at the very least, we have a very good idea of each others established personalities, (Dare I say character? No, I think, just personality), to the point where we can be fairly sure of what life will be like; when it comes to ourselves we are relatively clueless. Well I am at least. I think that now that its senior year we Know things about each other things that are not necessarily talked about; a LOT goes unspoken around here; but these things make up what we think of each other, and now we finally know enough from our more-established selves to make a forward-looking judgement. We know each others pasts (well, to a certain extent, and to differing extents for different people), and we are far more aware of each other now that we are aware of who we are. So we can make an interpolated projection of the future... You know its been almost a month since I wrote a journal entry and I think that this would be a lovely intro back into writing--thoughts on who we (Liz, Jessica, Kristen, Shawnee, Irma, Kirsten, Suzie, you know the whole lunch table dealie; and a few others like Kara, Dana, Ryan, Stacie; and those who have, metaphorically of course, gone before; Barbra Greene, Liz Scheulen) were when we first came here (First impressions and such, freshman year things); then the bits of past we learned; then the things we learned from each other due to incidents in our 'present' (i.e. together in high school, mostly grade 10 and 11); and then the NOW, senior year, when we are finally more aware of our individual senses of self (inner definition, regardless of outward things); then maybe, where I see us all in the future. |
